Singapore Art Museum opened in 1996 as the first art museum in Singapore. Also known as SAM, we present contemporary art from a Southeast Asian perspective for artists, art lovers and the art curious in multiple venues across the island, including in the historic port area of Tanjong Pagar.
SAM is building one of the world's most important public collections of Southeast Asian contemporary art, with the aim of connecting the art and the artists to the public and future generations through exhibitions and programmes. SAM is working towards a humane and sustainable future by committing to responsible practices within its processes.
As an intern, you will assist with events, festivals, and exhibition programming at SAM. You will also support volunteer management and provide administrative support to the team.
Intern Responsibilities
• Assist in conceptualising, organising and implementing various outreach programmes and festivals targeting different audience groups to grow new audiences and enhance their knowledge
• Support logistics preparation for public and outreach programmes
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of public programmes; including administrative tasks
• Help with programme documentation and preparation of publicity materials
Requirements
• Available to commit full-time (Monday to Friday) for a minimum of 3 months (up to 6 months), starting from Aug/Sep
• Able and willing to perform the responsibilities outlined above
• Background in Arts, Arts Management or related fields preferred
• Able to work weekends
• Basic video editing skills will be useful
