Singapore Art Museum opened in 1996 as the first art museum in Singapore. Also known as SAM, we present contemporary art from a Southeast Asian perspective for artists, art lovers and the art curious in multiple venues across the island, including in the historic port area of Tanjong Pagar.

SAM is building one of the world's most important public collections of Southeast Asian contemporary art, with the aim of connecting the art and the artists to the public and future generations through exhibitions and programmes.  SAM is working towards a humane and sustainable future by committing to responsible practices within its processes.  

Job Description

As an intern with the Learning team, you will support the planning and delivery of education and outreach initiatives. This includes assisting with exhibitions such as Think! Contemporary exhibitions and the Learning Gallery, supporting both online and in-person school visits or programmes, and contributing to the development of educational resources and materials. You will also assist in other ongoing SAM exhibitions and events such as Learning Gallery, Singapore Biennale and Articulation Prize Singapore.

Intern Responsibilities

• Assist in conceptualizing, organizing and implementing educational outreach activities, research and resources.

• Assist in day-to-day operations of educational programmes such as school workshops, visits, tours, drop-in activities etc.

• Perform other work-related duties as assigned

• Assist in data-collection and processing to inform research pertaining to Learning Programmes.

Requirements

• Available to commit full-time (Monday to Friday) for a minimum of 3 months (up to 6 months), starting from Aug/Sep

• Able and willing to perform the responsibilities outlined above

• Background in Arts, Arts Management or related fields preferred

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
