Serangoon Gardens Country Club is one of the oldest and most well-respected clubs in Singapore. Established on 29 April 1955 by Mr. S. C. Macey and some residents of Serangoon Gardens, it was then known as the Serangoon Gardens Sports Club. Membership was just $2 but was exclusive to residents of Serangoon Gardens estate. Majority were British servicemen who enjoyed gathering at the Club for soccer and hockey matches or a game of billiards, darts, bridge or tombola. Children also had a splashing time when the soccer field occasionally doubled-up as a pool and fishing pond after heavy rain.
In 1981, under the encouragement and foresight of Dr. Lau Teik Soon (Member of Parliament, 1976 to 1996 for Serangoon Gardens and Thomson GRC), the Club was redeveloped and Serangoon Gardens Country Club (SGCC) was born. Sitting on 22,684 square metres of prime land stretching from the junction of Hemsley Avenue to Kensington Park Road, the Club is an icon of heritage to the area and of pride to 4,000 members who now come from all corners of Singapore.
Today, the Club boasts a strong heritage of patrons such as Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Mr. George Yeo, Mrs. Lim Hwee Hua and Member of Parliament for Aljunied GRC, Ms Sylvia Lim.
The Club also prides itself as a Members’ Club. This means members have voting rights and own a part of the property and assets of the Club. However, much more than that is the friendship, the relationship, the camaraderie and the sense of belonging formed at Serangoon Gardens Country Club. They are truly priceless and for a lifetime. Indeed, it’s a privilege to belong.

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare restaurant for operations and clear restaurant for closing.
- Prepare the table set-up, refill condiments, roll cutleries, stock service areas and clear used cutlery.
- Welcome and usher members & guests into restaurant.
- To allocate table accordingly.
- To provide courteous and professional F&B service at all times.
- Answer questions on menu items, make recommendations, take orders, and assists members with special requests.
- Manage member’s complaints effectively.
- Maintain good housekeeping regime and report defects in furniture and equipment.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least Primary/Secondary School/"O" Level in any field.
- At least 1 Year(s) of related working experience in restaurant.
- Able to stand and walk for extended period
- Willing to work 6 days per week / 2 shifts (9 hours per shift including 1 hour break).
- Able to work on weekends / public holidays when required.
- Flexible with working hours during peak seasons.
