Why a Science Centre?
While formal educational institutions make sure we are raising a nation of “science literate people”, Science Centre Singapore takes this to the next level.
We make science accessible and engaging, creating an environment where Singaporeans are empowered to advance their own learning and, hopefully, are inspired to do something incredible with their futures.
Some of the ways we do this are by:
- Setting up exhibitions to illustrate the principles and powers of science and technology in everyday life
- Conducting school programmes to complement the school science syllabus.
- Producing scientific magazines and natural history guidebooks.
- Organising promotional activities to bring science closer to the people of Singapore
Scope of work
1. Intern will be involved in assisting an educator/project officer in conducting enrichment programmes/ managing projects, handling logistics and administrative aspects.
2. Intern will be required to research on various creative methods to deliver science or STEM and assist in the programme facilitation during workshops and events.
3. Intern will be grading Young Scientist projects daily and activities related to YSB and YSC workshops.
Requirements:
1. Enjoy interacting with students, industry partners, schools and public –
2. Good communication skills - Passion in science education and event management - Added advantage if intern is familiar with STEM education and project management
3. Interns will need to work on some evenings (for Observatory programmes)
4. Interns may need to work on some weekends for their projects (YSB/ YSC/ public Programmes/ Events)
