Job Description

Highly trained, professionally qualified, and multi-skilled 

The role of accountants will evolve, as digital transformation and concept of sustainability are starting to take centre stage across all industries.

The Graduate Accountant-Advisor Programme (GAAP) is a career programme by RSM Singapore to develop accountancy graduates with high potential into multi-skilled, highly trained and professionally qualified business advisors that can navigate the complex business environment and deliver impactful outcomes for our clients.

As part of GAAP, you will be rotated to various job functions, from auditing (both financial and IT audits), to working on data science and environmental, social and governance (ESG) projects. You will be mentored and groomed into a young leader with multi-disciplinary skill sets, able to tackle the challenges of the future. You will also be given full support to obtain the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualifications (SCAQ), as well as other relevant qualifications, whenever necessary.

Specialisations

After 2 to 3 years of job rotation, you will have the option to specialise in one or more of the following areas:

(1) Financial Audit

  • Perform assurance engagement in compliance with professional standards
  • Utilise data analytics tools to gather and analyse data

(2) Data Science

  • Identify opportunities, design and develop data analytics procedures to support internal and external needs
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of clients’ data to generate actionable insights
  • Conceptualise and develop data analytics or technology-related content to raise awareness of their benefits

(3) ESG

  • Conduct research, data collection and analysis on the needs and issues of the client through interviews and workshops to translate their requirements into well-formulated solutions
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients
  • Support ESG technology and advisory projects

(4) IT Audit

  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of IT controls and IT governance practices supporting the client’s business
  • Identify areas for improvements in business processes to better manage business risks
  • Articulate and discuss control issues/gaps and corrective action plans with stakeholders

Requirements

  • Degree in accountancy (local or overseas)
  • Demonstrated experience in analytics and/or ESG will be a plus
  • Technically competent, technology-savvy, energetic, and culturally adaptable
  • Good interpersonal communication, report writing, and presentation skills
  • Versatile, motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
