Consulting/financial advisory firm providing financial and business development support to Singapore and overseas startup companies.

Our company works hand and in hand with business angels and is an active participant in the startup ecosystem of Singapore. 

This specific assignment is for the following 2 startups:

- Hydrao (www.hydrao.com), a French tech company with numerous awards. They manufacture connected shower heads that help reduce water and power consumption by modifying the consumers’ behaviors. It has won tenders with prominent organizations in Singapore. Portman Investment represents Hydrao in Singapore and South East Asia and is responsible for developing their business, capitalizing on their recent commercial successes.

The main targets of Hydrao are condo developers, water utilities, hospitals, universities, health clubs, hotels, cruise ships, etc.

- GrabJobs ( www.grabjobs.com). It’s a market place app for entry and mid-level staff operating out of Singapore. They are already operating in Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and the Philippines. Their targets are the same as those of Hydrao. The immediate territory is for the time being Singapore and the Philippines. Reaching out to clients, especially in the hospitality industry will be achieved by using Portman Investment's network. Therefore, 100% of searches for Hydrao will apply to GrabJobs,with an extra search for the Philippines.


Job Description

* Strategic Business Development & Marketing

- Identify and make new contacts within existing Singapore-based clients.

- Collaborate with the commercial teams of both startups to develop and refine outreach strategies, tactics, and pitches.

- Carry out market research and write reports on the water segment, shortages and challenges, collecting data on water consumption.

- Drive marketing campaigns, newsletters in collaboration with the commercial teams of both startups.

- Review and revamp marketing collaterals & content for Asian markets, additions to the media contents on the startups’ websites.

- Gather feedback from clients.

* Sales Support Operations

- Contact potential clients in Singapore and the Philippines via cold calling and emails.

- Take control of the company's LinkedIn account to make contact with hotels in Singapore and the Philippines.

- Identify and make new contacts with all condo development projects in Singapore and their project managers, architects, chief engineer, responsible business, HR, etc.

- Meet potential clients, prepare specific material, opportunity management

- Respond to & convert inbound enquiries via various channels

- Prepare quotations and communicate timelines & requirements with the delivery teams

* Event support

- Project planning & execution in coordination with the teams of the respective startups

- Assistance in payment collection

- Reporting to the respective commercial teams

- Gather information on water challenges in South East Asia 

- Attend exhibitions, conferences, seminars, etc.

This internship would give a fantastic opportunity to a student to get a real-life exposure to startups and business angels, in 2 different sectors, tech/water management/sustainability and tech/HR. The intern is welcome to tag along in all startup/business angels events.
