Job Description

We are actively seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Puppetry Teacher/Performer to join our creative team. This dual role involves both introducing young children aged 2 to 7 to the enchanting world of puppetry through educational lessons and captivating performances. The ideal candidate will not only educate but also inspire students by bringing stories to life with engaging puppetry performances.

As a Puppetry Teacher, you will implement age-appropriate puppetry lessons that spark creativity and imagination among young children, while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will also assess and document students’ progress and development in puppetry skills and creativity.

As a Puppet Performer, you will participate in various performances organised by Playnium, captivating audiences of all ages with your puppetry skills. You will also collaborate with other performers and educators to create memorable and educational puppet shows that align with our organisation'ss mission and values.

Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in teaching puppetry or related arts to young children 
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning strategies 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents 
  • Passion for puppetry and the arts 
  • Degree or Diploma in teaching or theatre will be a plus. 
  • If you have an interest in puppetry but lack experience, we are willing to hire through auditions.
