Job Description

This position reports to the founder of Piano Mall who handles daily operations and business development. Piano Mall is a piano store which sells not only reliable used pianos, but also at an affordable price. As a Business Development Specialist, you get to take part in building our startup!

 

We are looking for a curious and resourceful specialist who's also a creative thinker to develop and implement our business development strategies, with a goal of achieving business sustainability. Your day to day task will be focused on working directly with the founder and be the lead in terms of customer acquisition and revenue growth.

 

In summary, the specialist will:

1. Shape our business development strategies and tactics.

2. Grow our revenue streams. This includes strategizing a sustainable piano acquisition model, identifying sales opportunities, up-selling and securing sales deals.

3. Develop creative and compelling pitches to prospective business partners or customers.

4. Manage and grow the sales opportunity pipeline.

5. Develop and manage our social media platforms to maintain a healthy public image.

6. Providing support for marketing activities, including coordination of customer marketing events when required.

7. Liaise with various business partners such as piano technicians and movers.

 

Technical Skills and Competencies:

1. Possess or pursuing bachelor’s degree or diploma in related field.

2. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

3. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable using various presentation tools (e.g. ppt, keynote, google slides) and adopt various other tools (e.g. photoshop, mailchimp) to enhance ability to pitch and communicate with more finesse and ease.

4. Familiar with market research principles and practices, able to collect and analyze data.

5. Have excellent understanding of consumer behaviour, especially purchase decision in the consumer decision process.

6. Able to design effective marketing collaterals.

7. Familiar with advertising tools such as (Google Adwords, Facebook ads etc.)

 

Duration of work:

Preferably 3-6 months or more. To motivate the specialist, remuneration will come as a percentage of the company's profits and has no upper/lower limits.
