Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

To work with and support the IT Operations and Groupware teams, gaining hands-on experience in how an IT environment is maintained. You will assist with troubleshooting and contribute to projects focused on improving team and organizational efficiency.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in daily operational tasks and gain hands-on experience with real-world IT systems.

  • Help with troubleshooting and assist in resolving IT issues under the guidance of senior team members.

  • Observe and assist in interactions with organisation users, teams and external vendors.

  • Learn about and support the implementation of IT standards and policies.

  • Research new technologies/solutions for end-user support.

  • Assist in analyzing end-user support logs to identify potential issues.

  • Document procedures and solutions for future reference.

  • Perform other learning-based tasks as assigned by the IT Ops and Groupware team leads.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Able to commit to a 6 months internship duration (immediate preferred).

  • Basic understanding of IT concepts and systems.

  • Ability to gather and organize information effectively.

  • Willingness to learn and solve problems.

  • Team-oriented attitude and good interpersonal communication skills.

  • Exposure to Google Workspace is a plus.

  • Experience with helpdesk or IT support environments is a plus.

  • Coursework in the following areas is beneficial:

    • Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic network troubleshooting.

    • Operating Systems: Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

    • System Administration: Basic knowledge of user account management, software installation, and system monitoring.

    • Database Concepts: Introduction to database management systems and SQL.

    • Cybersecurity Basics: Awareness of common security threats and best practices.
