Internship – Research Writer
Job Scope
As a Research Writer Intern, you will support the creative and production team in developing story ideas, researching subject matter, and preparing written materials for film, television, and other productions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research on assigned topics, characters, settings, social issues, professions, organisations, and other subject matters relevant to productions.
Gather, verify, and organise information from reliable sources to support story development and production needs.
Assist in developing research notes, character backgrounds, story references, concept documents, and other written materials.
Read and analyse scripts to identify relevant details, factual requirements, continuity points, and areas requiring further research.
Compile research findings into clear and concise summaries for writers, directors, producers, and other members of the creative team.
Maintain organised research files, references, source materials, and documentation for each assigned project.
Assist with preparing story-related materials and production documents as required.
Conduct additional research and writing tasks as assigned by the Producer, Writer, or relevant supervisor.
Skills & Requirements
Strong research, writing, reading, and information-gathering skills.
Able to distinguish reliable sources from unverified information.
Good command of written English.
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies.
Able to summarise large amounts of information clearly and efficiently.
Interest in film, television, storytelling, journalism, or creative content production.
Able to work under deadlines and adapt to changing production requirements.
Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of scripts, concepts, research materials, and other company information.
Learning Opportunities
The intern will gain practical exposure to the research, writing, story development, and production processes, including how research is translated into usable creative and production materials.
The intern may also be exposed to different aspects of production at the discretion of the Company, in line with the internship agreement.
