Job Description

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

  • Location: Remote / Field-Based (Southeast Asia Focus)
  • Compensation: Commission-based with basic salary

THE AGENCY

OBJECTIVE is an avant-garde agency dedicated to the curation and representation of visionary design brand/studios. We act as a strategic gateway for leading and emerging brands, ensuring their work is positioned before the world’s most discerning buyers. As we expand our footprint in Souteast Asia and beyond, we are seeking a high-energy, well-connected Business Development Executive to bridge the gap between our design partners and the industry’s top decision-makers.


THE ROLE

As a Business Development Executive, you are the face of our curated portfolio. Your primary objective is to drive commercial growth by integrating our brands into high-profile projects and retail environments. This is a role for a "hunter" with an aesthetic eye—someone who understands the nuances of luxury design and possesses the grit to navigate complex sales cycles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Network Expansion: Proactively identify and engage with leading architects, interior designers, specifiers, and premium retailers.
  • Brand Presentation: Conduct sophisticated presentations and "lunch and learns" to introduce our portfolio of brands to key firms.
  • Project Specification: Work closely with designers and specifiers to get our brands’ products written into project specifications for residential, hospitality, and commercial developments.
  • End-to-End Inquiry Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all product inquiries, providing technical support, pricing, and lead-time information.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends and upcoming developments to ensure our brands are positioned for the right opportunities at the right time.

WHO YOU ARE

  • The Connector: You have an existing "little black book" of contacts within the A&D (Architecture and Design) or the luxury furniture retail community.
  • The Curator: You have a deep appreciation for avant-garde design and can speak fluently about craftsmanship, materiality, and brand narrative. You have heard of designers like Joe Colombo, Donald Judd, Pierre Paulin, Jamie Haydon, etc
  • The Strategist: You understand that business development is about relationships, not just transactions. You are patient, persistent, and professional.
  • Self-Starter: As this is a commission-based role with a low basic-salary, you must be highly motivated by results and possess the discipline to manage your own pipeline independently.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the luxury design, furniture, or architectural products sector.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple brand identities and technical catalogs simultaneously.
  • Fluent in English (additional regional languages are a significant plus).
