Software Engineer Intern, Distributed Algorithms (Summer 2021)
We are currently looking for a Software Engineer Intern with strong concurrent and distributed computing background to join our engineering team's journey building the next iteration of the Mobbin platform.
For this role, you will collaborate with fellow engineers and designers to design and prototype provable distributed algorithms and data structures that will power Mobbin's collaborative editing features.
You are a good cultural fit if you:
- Possesses good knowledge and skill baseline for your technical vertical
- Have a strong inclination to identify and probe ambiguities
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Have a high propensity for learning
Here are some technical qualities we are looking for:
- Basic grasp of JavaScript
- Basic grasp of concurrent and parallel computing concepts
- Basic experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling
- Basic experience with unit testing
- Ability to comprehend computing research papers and remix/implement their ideas
- Ability to reason about and make technical trade-offs
- Strong computer science fundamentals
- Strong motivation to drive impact by making product or infrastructure improvements
It's a bonus if you have experience with some of the following:
- Languages - TypeScript, GraphQL, SQL (Postgres)
- Testing - Unit testing, Jest
- Design ideas - CvRDTs, flux
- View framework - React
Undergraduates who are majoring in computer science, computer engineering and other similar undergraduate programs are welcome to apply.
Time period: 10 May 2021 ~ 30 July 2021. Full time, 40 hours a week paid internship.
