The Milken Institute is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank determined to increase global prosperity by advancing collaborative solutions that widen access to capital, create jobs and improve health. The Milken Institute’s Singapore Internship Program, in partnership with Partners Group, aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders who are equipped to tackle the issues that shape the global agenda as they enter the financial, investment, corporate, multilateral, or philanthropic sectors. We create a customized experience for each intern, which is tailored to their interest area and career trajectory as well as emphasizes their professional and personal development. This experience includes opportunities to:
- Interact with high-level business leaders, ambassadors, business leaders, and academic experts as part of our “Global Leaders Speaker Series”
- Meet and work with the Milken Institute’s global network of senior executives
- Learn from senior leaders at the Milken Institute and Partners Group
- Gain insights into the workings of global financial markets through dedicated workshops
- Network with an international and diverse group of peers and professionals
Key Responsibilities
The Asia Center is looking for an intern to support the team in building up our events, programs, and stakeholder outreach and engagement. The ideal candidate will be able to accomplish the following responsibilities:
- Identify key executives as potential speakers from various industries and sectors (finance, technology, health care, government, philanthropy, food and ag, etc) and be able to do outreach and engagement with their office
- Perform economic, financial, and industry research on the macro trends shaping businesses and markets around the world and write short summaries to be used to frame and guide our roundtables, webinars, and events.
- Track, organize, and update key program and event documents and collaterals and support the team stay on track with program planning and development
- Pull content from past events and programs for social media posts and come up with ideas on how to boost social media impressions and visibility online
Qualifications
- She/he should be detailed-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and be fluent in written and spoken English
- She/he should be a proactive self-manager of responsibilities and be able to learn on the job
- Bachelor’s or Master’s graduate is preferred
- Singaporean national is preferred, but open to all nationalities
Internship Duration
We offer a 4 to 12-month internship. We are looking for an intern who can start as soon as possible and work 20-40 hours a week. In the event of COVID-19 restrictions, we expect interns to be able to work fully remotely as needed, and join team meetings and other calls virtually.
