Internship - Cybersecurity Control & Support (Apr 2026 - Mar 2027)
These five responsibilities offer tangible experience in key cybersecurity domains: Risk Management, Governance, Vendor Security, Security Culture, and Incident Preparedness.
1. Vulnerability Management and Remediation Coordination: Actively participate in the post-analysis of security scan reports and penetration testing results, assisting the team in prioritizing, tracking, and coordinating the timely remediation of identified critical system vulnerabilities across the IT environment.
2. Executive and Governance Reporting Synthesis: Contribute directly to the preparation of high-level risk and compliance reports for senior management and governance committees (e.g., ARC), requiring the synthesis of complex security metrics into clear, actionable business language.
3. Proactive Security Vetting and Due Diligence: Perform initial security control assessments and risk evaluations for new IT-related purchases, software solutions, and third-party vendors, helping the department identify and mitigate supply chain risk before implementation.
4. Security Awareness Content Development and Delivery: Research, design, and assist in the delivery of engaging cybersecurity awareness campaigns and educational materials (e.g., phishing simulations, training videos) to reduce human-related risk across the entire employee base.
5. Incident Response Exercise Participation and Documentation: Participate in the planning, execution, and post-mortem analysis of internal incident response and business continuity exercises to validate operational readiness and contribute to the refinement of standardized security runbooks and procedures.
Qualifications
1. Foundational Technical Knowledge and Application: Should possess a sound working knowledge of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model) and operating system security principles (Windows/Linux), demonstrated through coursework or personal projects, to effectively diagnose and support security tools.
2. Analytical and Problem-Solving Aptitude: Proven ability to analyze complex data sets (e.g., log files, vulnerability scan reports) to identify trends, isolate root causes of security issues, and suggest practical remediation steps to the team.
3. Proactive Learning and Collaborative Mindset: Exhibits a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a self-driven eagerness to rapidly absorb new cybersecurity technologies and regulatory frameworks, combined with strong interpersonal skills for clear team communication.
