Job Description

Position Overview

The incumbent will support the APZ Communications Director in partnering with the business to drive both internal and external communications in this region.

Job Description

  • Support the business with engaging and fresh internal / external communication activities which amplify the organisation's key values and principles.
  • Work closely with the Communications Director to understand our stakeholders' brief and execute engaging communication plans that support business objectives and raise brand awareness in the region.
  • Work closely with the Communications Director to support executive communications strategy and plan, deepen our regional thought leadership voices.
  • Manage the new Employee Hut portal (intranet) and work with stakeholders to support content collation, update, and editorial research and creation.
  • Partner with the Communications Director, Purpose-Led Performance Steering Committee/Employee Engagement Committee and the business to advocate employee engagement and strengthen McCormick's Employee Value Proposition.
  • Develop ongoing communication assets, including but not limited to slides, briefing documents, digital media, and visual/video assets.
  • Research, produce and write high-quality and engaging stories for internal audiences.
  • Monitor the external environment for insights and news that is relevant for the business.
  • Manage event calendar for internal events; organise and support internal events.
  • Manage and maintain internal file sharing platform including but not limited to Sharepoint image library and content folders for the region.
  • Draft content pieces and support content development for internal / owned channels like Yammer, the intranet and LinkedIn.
  • Support any issues / reputational communications needs as required.
  • Work with external vendors including public relations, marketing and creative agencies as required.

What you bring to the table

  • Background in Communications, Journalism, or Events is preferred
  • Fluency in English, with strong writing and editing skills (please submit 3 writing samples e.g blogs, published articles along with your application)
  • Highly organised, with an ability to prioritise time-sensitive assignments and follow through on commitments 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools - Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Social media savvy - specifically, familiarity with LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok
  • Experience with video editing and design would be advantageous 

Educational Requirements

  • Final year Bachelor's degree student currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or institution 

Other Considerations and Requirements

  • We are a global team working through a range of time zones though we mostly support key business / employee engagement events in the Asia Pacific zone. This means you will need to be available for meetings and all events that we support. 
  • This position is ideal for anyone who can commit to a minimum internship period of six (6) months full time, with the possibility of extension. 
  • Has an excellent command of written and verbal English. Able to write clearly with an audience-centric mindset 
  • Possesses a strong understanding of digital platforms, is creative and a resourceful problem solver 
  • Is comfortable working / supporting across all levels of stakeholders including senior leadership 
  • Has strong organisational skills, is self-motivated, results-driven and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Has a current right to work in Singapore, and do not require sponsorship of a visa
