Job Description

Key responsibilities of the intern include:

  • Rates/Rate Loading – Continuously updating pricing manual and assist in communicating changes to the field; Run weekly strategic audits to ensure hotels are using the rate plans per the AP rules/governance standards; Run ad-hoc audits for our global/divisional/brand campaigns and follow up with hotels who have not complied
  • Performance Analysis/Reporting – Assist in month end divisional performance reporting of our hotels as per the specified Starwood financial formats
  • Strategic Pricing Analysis – Aggregate regional, brand, market segment performance analysis of hotels
  • Tools and Technology – Overall support of the online revenue plan (sales and marketing reporting tool); Assist in creation of excel based revenue management tools as needed; Assist in creating the relevant manuals and documentations surrounding the tools that have been developed
  • HR/Training – Assist in creating the weekly revenue management updates and monthly revenue management newsletter; Coordinating activities between the Senior Director, Revenue Management and the field team of Regional Directors of Revenue Management and property level Directors of Revenue Management
  • Inter-Departmental – Support Marketing with coming up with a soft spot calendar for them to work on their promotional activities; Working with Sales to support them on group forecast numbers
  • Overall Support to hotels – For any and all the items continuous and ongoing support to the revenue management leaders at a hotel level

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

You should be a high-potential intern who is passionate, committed and keen to establish a career in the hospitality industry with the following key competencies and skills:

  • Knowledge of basic revenue management principles
  • Proficient in MS Office and other statistical software
  • Ability to learn new technologies easily
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written/verbal)
  • Confidence, ability to perform well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to analyze and interpret basic financial/market data
  • Organizational & time management skills
  • Analytical and numerical skills

Qualification standard

Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business Management preferred.

Requirements

  • Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident Holder or valid student pass
  • Prepared to commit to a six months’ internship
  • Eligible for undergraduate in a Singapore registered university program
