The intern will be expecting to:

Gain an insight into the recruitment profession, the wider job market and the commercial world of work

Increase employability prospects post university from having participated in a positive, practical learning experience

Understand the candidate’s and employer’s position in the recruitment process

Understand the techniques used in the recruitment process

Get the inside track on how to secure the best jobs

Receive a personal psychometric profile to highlight strengths and development areas

Receive personal development feedback from a dedicated mentor

Have a head start when making their career choices and embarking on their job search

Induction

Gain an introduction to your company, including its history, products and services, market, culture and values

Understand how  company is structured

Are provided with a brief introduction to the senior members of your company as well as the people that the intern will be working with on a regular basis.

Have a clear outline of the job role

Understand the candidate’s position in the recruitment process 

Research using internal databases, career sites, job portals and using Social Media

Observe potential candidates being qualified and profiled over the phone and/or face to face

Witness the preparation and debriefing of candidates pre/post client interview

Understand the employer’s position in the recruitment process 

Witness a meeting with an employer, taking a brief for a job role

Review what an employer looks for in a job seeker

Understand the techniques used in the recruitment process 

Understand the importance of a good CV

Understand the power of Social Media - including the use of LinkedIn profiles

Be exposed to a range of interview scenarios and techniques e.g. Biographical or Competency Based Interviewing

Gain market/sector knowledge

Understand different job roles and career paths available in your market/sector
