Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) [LBSA] is a Social Service Organisation which was founded in 1995 by the Lions Clubs of Singapore and a Lions District Project. We are also a registered member with the National Council of Social Service, the local social services sector's umbrella body.

OUR PROGRAMMES

Active Ageing Centres: We provide an array of activities that help seniors to stay physically and mentally alert and keep them plugged into a social network. We provide Buddying and Befriending service to seniors at risk of social isolation to befrienders (volunteers) who provide friendship through home visits. Community Case Management Service: We closely monitor the well-being of frail seniors through individual case management and home visits.

Job Description

Job Purpose

To support the planning and implementation of programmes or conduct home visits for seniors, under the guidance and supervision of the Executive or Manager. This role does not involve independent decision-making but contributes meaningfully to the well-being of older adults through direct engagement and operational support. 

Key Responsibilities

Programme Support (Centre-Based):

• Assist in planning and coordinating daily activities and programmes for seniors.

• Prepare materials, set up spaces, and support logistics for events and group activities.

• Engage seniors during programmes to encourage participation and social interaction.

• Collect feedback and observations to inform programme improvements.

Home Visit Support (Community-Based):

• Conduct scheduled home visits to check on seniors’ well-being, following standard protocols.

• Provide basic assistance and companionship during visits.

• Report observations and concerns to the Executive or Manager for follow-up.

• Support outreach efforts to engage isolated or vulnerable seniors.

Administrative & Operational Duties:

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, visits, and programme participation.

• Assist with data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks as required.

• Ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent; relevant experience in eldercare or community work is a plus.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

• Able to work independently within a structured framework and follow instructions.

• Physically able to assist with programme setup and conduct home visits.

• Able to commit minimum 3 to 6 months. 

Work Environment

• Based at an Active Ageing Centre with occasional travel for home visits.

• Collaborative team setting with supervision and guidance provided.
