Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented R&D Intern to work on a battery recycling project, focusing on impurity removal and battery precursor synthesis activities. You will work closely with senior researchers, gaining hands-on experience in R&D and scale-up activities. If you enjoy building, experimenting, and solving messy problems from first principles, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and run experiments for impurity removal (Cu, Fe, Al) and battery precursor (pCAM) synthesis.
  • Perform wet chemistry (precipitation, filtration) and process development
  • Analyze experimental outcomes and characterization test results (e.g., ICP-OES, XRD, SEM)
  • Document experiments and contribute to technical discussions
  • Support preparation of technical summaries and internal reports
  • Maintain lab operations, safety, and equipment

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Expected graduation no later than June 2027. Candidates graduating in 2026 are welcome to apply.
  • Strong interest in battery materials, battery recycling, or electrochemistry
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in execution
  • Prior research experience (coursework projects or internships) is preferred.

 

Additional details

  • Role is based at our NUS Lab, Singapore.
  • Full-time role with 40 hours/week with a min 6 months commitment.
  • We are open to long-term internships (6 to 9 months). Candidates who can start in May 2026 and commit beyond 6 months are strongly encouraged to apply.
