Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Engineering Intern to join our team to support process scale-up, process optimisation and piloting activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to gain practical, real-world engineering experience of scaling an invention from lab to pilot scale in a fast-paced, climate tech start-up. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, setup, and operation of prototype systems and pilot-scale equipment.
  • Support process engineering activities, including flowsheet development, mass and energy balances.
  • Participate in process development activities, collecting and analysing experimental data.
  • Contribute to troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and R&D.
  • Prepare technical reports, test summaries, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • Expected graduation no later than June 2027. Candidates graduating in 2026 are welcome to apply.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of chemical engineering and/or metallurgical process principles.
  • Previous internship, co-op, or research experience in a relevant engineering or laboratory setting is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong data analysis and visualisation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Additional details

  • Role is based at our NUS Lab, Singapore.
  • Full-time role with 40 hours/week with a min 6 months commitment. 
  • We are open to long-term internships (6 to 9 months). Candidates who can start in May 2026 and commit beyond 6 months are strongly encouraged to apply.
