KatoKato's goal is to revolutionize the social commerce space. We are building solutions to improve the shopping experience via chatting platforms. These integrations are built on top of chatting applications to enable e-commerce features.
We're looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team in kickstarting a new way to shop online. You will be surrounded by a vibrant and talented team of software engineers of various expertise with a flat hierarchy where everyone has a voice that will be heard. You will be exposed to a modern technology stack and development pipeline, building and shipping quality systems to production.
Our technology stack is composed of Node.js, React, PostgreSQL (Prisma), GraphQL and using TypeScript.
What can you expect?
- Collaborating as a team to create and ship systems using a modern technology

Writing clean and maintainable code that compiles with software engineering practices and standards
Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews and discussions
Job Requirement
- The minimum commitment for a Winter internship is 4 weeks with a possible part-time
extension
We are looking for someone who/with
- Currently is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or any related technical fields
- Proficient in server-side technology such as Node.js with TypeScript
- Some programming experience and familiarity through either classwork or side projects
- Good English oral and written communication skills
- A passion for software engineering and tackling interesting technical challenges
We will prefer someone with
- Prior experience/internships in a similar position or related side project
- Strong project management skills including agile methods
- Strong understanding of relational databases
- Good knowledge of Prisma ORM and GraphQL
- Knowledge of Git or any other source version control systems
- Experience with frontend framework React is a plus
