JERA Global Markets (JERAGM) is a leading utility-backed seaborne energy trader specialising in LNG, Coal and Freight with a platform to trade across all key markets (North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia). JERAGM is a joint venture between majority shareholder JERA Inc. (JERA) and EDF Trading.
JERAGM operates one of the largest seaborne energy portfolios in the world which gives us an in-depth understanding of the way local, regional and international energy markets behave. The commercial hub of the company is in Singapore, with offices located in Japan (Tokyo), the UK (London) and the US (Baltimore).
Internship Project Title: Driving Digital Transformation for LNG Operations
Supervisor: Head of LNG Operations
Details of the Project Scope:
The LNG Operations team is seeking creative and motivated individuals who are keen for exposure to the essential role of Operations in international trade in a growing LNG market.
Under this internship programme, you will be attached to the LNG Cargo and Freight Operations in JERA Global Markets Pte Ltd. During your internship, you will be involved in the development of solutions and to deliver work improvement processes for LNG operations.
Areas of focus:
- Improving the maintenance of shipping data, canal costs, LNG shipping boil off, port costs, LNG cargo insurance costs.
- Design and develop an auto reporting system from existing data and tools.
- Problem solving:
- Developing a database for existing Contracts
- Improving the existing database for JERAGM’s fleet of LNG Ships
- Creating decision making, planning and deadline management tools.
- Data migration
In addition, you would be exposed to analysis of the various cargo and transportation costs associated with trading and transporting LNG globally. You would also be given the opportunity to understand LNG as a product, and the vital role it plays as the world transitions to sustainable, cleaner energy.
Qualifications
Required Discipline: Data Science or Computer Programming
Other Requirements: Skilled in Python, MS Excel and Power BI
University undergraduates in their penultimate year preferred.
