Hotel Fort Canning – Food & Beverage Intern

An urban oasis in the park. Hotel Fort Canning is a luxurious and award-winning conservation hotel tucked within 18 hectares of lush greenery in Fort Canning Park. Considered one of Singapore’s iconic heritage hotels, Hotel Fort Canning bears a storied past that dates back to the early 20th century, with the building itself a former British military administration site.

1. Assist customers to their tables.
2. Inform customers of daily specials.
3. Prepare checks that itemise total meal costs and sales taxes.
4. Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.
5. Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and taking them to the appropriate area.
6. Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; prepare and serve speciality dishes at tables as required.
7. Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
8. Do side duties as assigned on a daily basis by the Restaurant Manager or Shift Leader.

Requirements:

1. Hospitality or related major studies
2. Capable of a 12-week commitment
3. Able to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
4. Read, write and speak English fluently
5. Customer service skills

Remuneration:

• Monthly allowance: $800/-
