Job Description

Hmlet is looking for a junior designer to support the interior design team.

The role will be varied, with day-to-day duties including using CAD to re-design spaces; specifying and sourcing furniture plus accessories and presenting design ideas and options to internal stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain experience in our dynamic team, and have first-hand experience shaping the way Hmlet is experienced by our members. 

The skills and experience we are looking for:

  • An interest in residential design and spatial planning abilities.
  • An ownership mentality, you’ll be working in a fast-paced environment so you’ll need to be good at prioritising your own tasks and and love getting stuff done
  • Experience in sourcing for furniture, fittings and accessories
  • Able to quickly hand sketch and communicate ideas
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Sketchup, skill to create 3D renders is a plus
  • Experience using Photoshop and InDesign
  • 1 to 2 years work experience and relevant education.
  • Fluent English speaker, Mandarin speaker is a plus


Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with surveying new sites (taking measurements apartments and taking photos)
  • Drawing up detailed, technical site plans
  • Assisting the ID team with design concepts, sourcing mood and concept images and assembling furnishing, color and material mood boards
  • Touching up 3D rendering by Adobe Photoshop
  • Research and sourcing on trend FF&E which fit with our brand and the design concept
  • Building brand and supplier resources and relationships to speed up FF&E sourcing, and maintain supplier information in directory and product library
  • Creating budget and timeline estimates for projects based on contractor and supplier quotes using Asana and Google Sheets
  • Sourcing solutions and alternatives to materials and products to meet budget or time restrictions
  • Assist the ID, Sales and Operations team with general support
  • Maintain and organise the design and sample library
