Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically inclined IT Intern to support day-to-day IT operations in the office and provide basic remote IT assistance to vessels. The intern will assist in maintaining IT infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and supporting cybersecurity compliance under supervision.
This role offers hands-on exposure to enterprise IT systems, remote vessel connectivity, and maritime IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Office IT Support
- Provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, and printers
- Assist in installation and configuration of Windows OS and applications
- Support Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint basic support)
- Perform hardware setup (CPU, monitor, docking stations, peripherals)
- Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation
- Assist in system updates and patch management
* Basic Vessel Remote IT Support
- Assist in remote troubleshooting of vessel PCs via remote tools
- Support email configuration and basic network troubleshooting
- Escalate major incidents to senior IT team
* Cybersecurity & Compliance Support
- Assist in antivirus monitoring and updates
- Ensure USB control and endpoint compliance as per policy
- Assist in implementing IT security guidelines for third-party systems
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of:
- Windows OS
- Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Microsoft 365
- Strong troubleshooting mindset
- Good communication skills
