Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative and digitally-savvy New Media Executive to drive Furen International School’s online presence within the Chinese digital landscape. This role involves developing engaging multimedia content and managing Chinese social media platforms to support student recruitment and enhance the school’s visibility. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Marketing to manage the school’s digital footprint and ensure consistent brand messaging across all specialized Chinese media channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • China-Centric Content Creation: Lead the production of high-quality digital content, including short videos for Douyin and WeChat Channels, as well as visual layouts for RedNote.
  • Platform Management: Manage and grow the school’s official Chinese accounts, including the WeChat Official Account (Service/Subscription), RedNote, Weibo, and Douyin, by creating monthly content calendars and solar term-related digital posts.
  • Website & Article Management: Coordinate the updating and maintenance of content on the school website and write/edit marketing articles for WeChat and Zhihu to reach prospective parents and students.
  • Agent & Student Engagement: Disseminate regular school updates to education agents via WeChat groups and digital newsletters, including training invitations and solar term charts.
  • Community Interaction: Act as the primary digital point of contact by handling, screening, and allocating incoming customer enquiries received through WeChat and other social platforms.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Compile and analyze digital performance metrics from Chinese platforms and prepare weekly reports for the Head of Marketing.
  • On-Site Content Capture: Conduct photography or "live" coverage of school tours and campus activities to create authentic content for the Chinese audience.
  • Perform any other digital-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or school management.

Requirements & Skills

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications.
  • Digital Expertise: (Information not in source, standard for role): Deep understanding of the China digital ecosystem, including the latest trends on RedNote and Douyin algorithm mechanics.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling copy in Simplified Chinese.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in mobile video editing tools (e.g., Jianying/CapCut) and basic content management systems.
  • Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable interacting with parents, students, and overseas education agents.
  • Relevant experience in Chinese social media management (e.g., WeChat, RedNote) is preferred.
