We are a multi-disciplinary studio that design and create workwear solutions for the F&B industry, while addressing the sustainability issues that comes with fashion consumption. We started out as menders and makers, promoting re-use of textiles, and extending the life-span of clothes. Now, we are a creative studio consulting to brands and organisations on the intersection of design and sustainability. Our obsession with sustainability comes from wanting to reveal the beauty in items worn by time and environment.
We have worked with local institutions as well as international organisations from National Library, Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre to Uniqlo, Levi's and Porsche to design purposeful yet artistic solutions to sustainability questions.
As a production assistant, you will be assisting us in the preparation and cutting of raw and/or repurposed fabric for the making of handcrafted products in the workshop. Rarely, we will conduct sewing workshops offsite for large groups, or have pop ups at markets, so some flexibility in work location might be required. Travel arrangements are usually provided for such instances.
As a company that makes handcrafted products, some experience with sewing would be nice, but a willingness to learn on the job is far more appreciated. Respect for punctuality is also expected as time is a precious commodity for small business owners.
As a retail assistant, we would love for you to help us with retail operations on Saturdays from 12 to 6pm. Simple tasks such as steaming garments, packing, basic store housekeeping and inventory taking will be part of the job. You will work an average of 2-3 days a week, depending on your availability and ongoing projects happening at FIN.
The one thing you will observe and learn here, is the art of retail at FIN differs significantly from the average retail experience in a mall. You will also get a firsthand experience of what it takes to be an entrepreneur in Singapore.
