Company Profile

Entrepreneur First is Europe's leading early-stage investor in deep technology companies, and since September 2016 we have been running the first programme in Singapore. We help the world's most ambitious and talented computer scientists and engineers to build high-growth deep technology companies from scratch.

Over the last four years, we’ve built more than 75 startups, which are collectively worth over $500m. The current programme intake (coded EFSG1) is currently building teams and generating ideas for their startups. We can’t wait to see what they’ll build: Nearly half of the participants are PhD students and postdocs, mostly from NUS, NTU and SUTD, and people are leaving jobs at JP Morgan, Facebook and Garena to build their own startup. Added to the fact that we also have some of Singapore’s best hackers and serial founders joining us, setting up what is likely to change the Singapore tech startup ecosystem in a profound way.

Job Description

The EF programme is a 6-month intensive programme that takes founders in before they have an idea or a team, and bring them through ideation, company formation, a pre-seed investment and Demo Day. We're growing fast and we're looking for a new team member to help our startup companies as they speed towards our first Demo Day.

As part of the young team in Singapore, you’ll be responsible from day one. One day you’ll work with Singapore’s most prominent founders and investors, but another day you, along with other employees, will have to collect beer cans after an event. There is very little hierarchy, and you are encouraged to work on projects that you find exciting.

The Programme Analyst will be part of the Programme Team, which is responsible for handling the operations of the programme and the mentoring of the startups in our investment portfolio.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Cohort Experience - We bring the brightest technical founders together to build a billion-dollar startup, and we want them not just to be a success at the end of the day but also enjoy the journey of building. You will be part of the Programme Team that makes the experience worth the struggle of entrepreneurship.
  • Operational Management - You will be handling the operations of the programme, ensuring that it is executed at a high level of effectiveness and efficiency. Expect to take ownership over the timeline and schedule, leading up to the conclusion of the programme.
  • Event Organisation - Each week there are events and talks that are organised for the cohort, and you will be overseeing the events that take place. This culminates in organising a world-class Demo Day together with the Programme Team.
  • Founder Interactions - As part of the Programme Team, you will also be given the chance to speak to the founders of our portfolio companies, and gain insight into the inner workings of a startup at a pre-seed stage.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about startups, entrepreneurs, and technology (and that isn't limited to just Snapchat).
  • Naturally curious about the way the world works and seeks to gain more knowledge.
  • Confident to rub shoulders with big shot investors, but yet unafraid to get their hands dirty and scrub the toilets (no we won't actually make you scrub the toilets).
  • Organised and meticulous with their work and has set a high personal standard for themselves.
  • Resilient and undaunted by failure or difficulty.
  • Able to work in a startup environment - young, scrappy and hungry.

Bonus points if you:

  • Have worked in or built a startup before.
  • Believe in the potential for technology startups to really change the world.
  • Have organised events in school or for community service before.
  • Can connect easily with the people you talk to.
  • Know who 'Stoffel the Honey Badger' is.
  • Love having fun (we really enjoy our board game nights).
