Elitez Pte Ltd – Lead Researcher

• Plan, conduct and document experiments including data collection, analysis and presentation of results for an audience within the department or wider Group, including external-facing output such as conference papers and blog posts.
• Support the business by leading the development, tracking and improvement of crop performance at the farm.
• Develop and implement Developmental to Operational gate/ stages to ensure smooth and practical transitions from lab to farm scale crops.
• Lead direct reporting R&D Specialists to seamlessly transpose R&D development processes from developmental stages to operational processes.
• Conduct programme trials, lab and user tests to determine crop suitability and effectiveness at all stages, from seed to nursery, grow room to post-harvest. Ensure development process at all stages is up to date and geared towards efficiency for teams.
• Produce and test prototype implementation of systems to optimise growth at scale in farm conditions. 
• Identify and follow up opportunities for learning and development to ensure skill set meets evolving requirements and stay at the forefront of relevant scientific and technology areas.
• Gain cooperation with third parties including external contacts, and negotiate agreements to advance R&D projects.

Key Projects 

• Oversee crop development and optimisation at scale, ensuring R&D methods can be commercialised with efficiency and performance output.
• Lead new product innovations whenever needed.
• Support and develop necessary documentation and training as needed.
• Ensure team members are well supported in all areas of performance, projects and culture development in accordance to skills matrix.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor in Crop Science, Agriculture, Biotechnology or Plant Science.
• 2-3 years of experience in planning and running experiments in commercial farms.
• Ability to analyse and communicate academically quantitative insights in an actionable manner for operational excellence.
• Detail oriented and analytical.
• Creative – propose innovative solutions to technical problems.
• Aptitude for finding solutions / improvements.
