Job Description

Education Volunteer Network is a non-profit organisation looking at increasing impact through our beneficiaries. We are looking for a Programs & Communications Intern from March 2021 to July 2021.

Join us if you are:

-looking for avenues to serve within the community

-interested to use your skills to inspire and empower the next generation

-exploring ways to apply what you have learned in school

What to expect:

-Direct exposure to various segments of the social service sector i.e. children, youth, seniors, people with disabilities etc.

-Honing project management and mentoring skills

-Training in applied qualitative and quantitative research

-Opportunity to pioneer new programs and lead teams

-12 week course in Program management / Teacher training / Asian & European Languages (optional)

 

Responsibilities: 

-Support program execution and management 

-Mentor children and youth in academic and non-academic programs 

-Collaborate with team and external vendors on programs and materials development 

-Assist team in brand ideation, annual reports and strategic planning 

-Create engaging stories, videos and posts on our blog 

-Bring new ideas for content and support photo/video shoots where necessary 

-Create content for online and offline audience 

 

Requirements: 

-Creativity: Creative and strategic thinker who enjoys thinking out of the box 

-Love: Passion working with children and youth, particularly the under-privileged

-Aesthetics: Great visualisation skills. Strong background in drama 

-Music: Grade 3 and above in piano or equivalent 

-Qualifications: Pursuing a qualification in drama, psychology, community development or equivalent. Working experience would be a plus 

-Decent O level results (B3 and above) in one or more of four spheres (Languages: English & Mother Tongue; Mathematics: Elementary Mathematics & Additional Mathematics; Sciences: Physics, Chemistry & Biology; Humanities: History, Geography, Literature & Combined Humanities) 

-Resourceful: Happy to wear multiple hats with a ‘no task is too small’ attitude 

-Team player: Good communication skills with children/youth/adults 

 

Preferred: 

-Music: Grade 5 and above in piano or equivalent 

-Good O level results (A2 and above) in two or more of four spheres (Languages: English & Mother Tongue; Mathematics: Elementary Mathematics & Additional Mathematics; Sciences: Physics, Chemistry & Biology; Humanities: History, Geography, Literature & Combined Humanities) 

- Leadership: Enjoys leading small groups / Willing to learn
