EDF Lab Singapore – Back-end / Full Stack Developer

EDF Lab Singapore is part of a global leader in low-carbon energy, EDF Group. The Singapore Lab was launched in 2014 to commit to research and innovation in the field of Smart Cities and Distributed Energy Systems. 

The selected candidate will support the EDF team in Singapore as back-end engineer. He or she will be dealing with IT system architecture development and management, modelling, data management & analytics of existing and new research and commercial projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and manage IT system architectures linked to energy: generation, distribution, consumption, efficiency.
• Participate in the development and testing of Energy Management Systems in GoLang and Python
• Contribute to the development and implementation of technical and behavioural models, including AI-based algorithms
• Prepare, process and analyse data, contributing with new insights into the simulation and engineering modelling process.
• Develop and run simulation models and produce relevant outputs for further research.
• Collaborate with researchers within EDF group and partners to create and disseminate findings of research.
• Support the team for current IT issue in their developments and research.
• Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the supervisors.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the software development is a plus
• Proficient in one or more programming languages: Python, PyTorch, GoLang, C++ and etc.
• Good understanding in distributed system architecture and communication like RESTful and RPC.
• Strong skills in database architecture design and management.
• Data analysis and data preparation skills.
• Familiar with Linux environment (e.g. Debian) and virtual machine management, IT infrastructure, version control tool like Git,
• Experiences with AI model development, containerized technology like docker, cloud technology like AWS or microgrids will be a plus
• Experience with like aws will be a plus.
• Independent and self-motivated, yet able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage concurrent technical tasks with competing priorities.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptability and capabilities to work in an international environment.
