Job Description

The person will work with a team of other finance assistants to perform the daily operations in GL section. He/she will prepare monthly journals for closing of accounts and prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned GL scope of work and perform follow up duties on the schedules/enquiries.

Responsibilities:

• The incumbent handles the general ledger accounting during the monthly close process, and assist in the preparation of statutory reports.

• Other responsibilities include preparation of Four-Walls Sales report, SAP statistical postings, tax packages, client assistance packages and SyRUS package preparation for dormant entities during the monthly close process.

• Posting of accrual and prepayment amortization journal entries and ensure completeness of monthly financial close.

• Perform data reconciliation between SAP FICO and other sub-systems (e.g. INFORM, MCS and MM module).

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliation for division and ensure issues are timely resolved with division.

• Monitor and clear Open-Item-Managed (OIM) accounts balances.

• Compute and record sublease rental income for division, and coordinate with A/R team on sublease billings and settlement.

• Provide responsive support to division, FPA and Global Finance team in day to day operations.

• Work with and assist Accounting & Reporting accountant/manager in resolving issues and streamline processes.

• Upload journal entries on behalf of division local finance team.

• Other ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Accountancy (GL/full set experience will be considered favorably) 
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, SAP experience is an advantage
  • Good communications and writing skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
