Job Description

A Graduate Management trainee is required to interact with clients for most part of his/her day and so good communication and presentation skills are a prerequisite for the job. This job also requires thorough financial and sector knowledge in order to provide sound and to clients. The major skills and competencies that employers look for are:

Excellent communication and listening skills

Confidence and Presentation skills

Understanding and interest in financial / banking products and markets

Ability to analyze and research information

Ability to explain complex information clearly and simply

Good sales and negotiation skills

As such, selected candidates will go through comprehensive training with proper 1 to 1 mentorship.

Training starts early, and this begins when potential candidates are selected to attend courses, Power Evolution Programmes, so as to gain an understanding of full range of products even before they are contracted.

Following which, all new associates will go through a 90-daytraining programme conducted by Advisors Alliance. This course will enable them to cultivate a good habit of starting the day early and will provide them with a platform to discuss their daily activities with the managers that are coaching them. New candidates will share ideas and experiences in prospecting for clients, as well as problems faced during appointments. During these 90days, they will also go through coaching sessions and the Kick-Start programmes.

Kick-Start programmes further equip new associates with essential skills, such as cold calling, prospecting, presentation, obtaining referrals, objections handling and after sales service. Coaching sessions are conducted by experience mentors and will be done as individual sessions or small group sessions. New associates must meet the minimum requirement of having eighty per cent attendance and specific sales targets during the 90 days before they can complete and 'graduate'. At graduation, they will be presented with a specially tailored jersey to mark their milestone.

The training will expose the candidates to the financial services industry of Singapore.

On top of the above examination, candidates will be given training on the following

1) Financial Portfolio Analysis and Design
2) Corporate Risk Management
3) Client Acquisition and Client Servicing
4) Wealth and Asset Management

Upon the successful completion of the training phase, the candidates will move on to the consultancy phase. They will be required to work together with the consultants to come up with appropriate solutions to address the clients needs and concerns. This can include either wealth accumulation or personal risk management solutions. It can include advising SMEs on their business portfolios.

Candidates will also be required to submit a weekly review of their learnings throughout their training stint and a final review upon the completion of the training.
