The British Council Singapore has four centres (Napier Road, Tampines, Marsiling and Toa Payoh). In Singapore, our work includes teaching English to adults and young learners aged from nursery to primary and secondary; teacher and corporate training, as well as a pre-school. At Napier Road we have about 1000 young learners, 20% of which are Preschool and 55% are Primary level. The majority of our customers are Singaporeans, whose children are enrolled in MOE schools, and our courses are designed to be in line with MOE learner outcomes specifically reading ability to enter Primary 1 (Preschool), the English paper for the PSLE (Primary school), English O’Levels (Secondary school) and the general paper examination (Junior College). In addition to our MOE related courses, we also run SMART English Junior. This is an intensive General and Academic English course for students aged 11 to 14 years old, who wish to study at International or government secondary school in Singapore, and for whom English is a foreign language.
We are looking for a Preschool/Primary Teaching Resource Coordinator to join our Napier branch. He/She will be performing a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the Young Learner team to facilitate the efficient operation of the school's department. This will mainly involve the preparation and storage of PreSchool and Primary School teaching materials, assisting preschool teachers in the delivery of their lessons and overseeing the Young Learner zone, which includes the duty of care of young children who are onsite, but not in class. You will also produce and manage welcome pack stock across centres/products.
To be considered, you must be able to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children and have effective communication and engagement with children and their families. If you have experience working with children and/or are a teacher support at Preschool and/or Primary school level, you will be a preferred candidate. Excellent level (IELTS 6) of spoken and written English is a must.
In return, the British Council offers an international working environment and growth prospects for the future as part of a rapidly expanding organisation.
