Job Description

We are seeking a Music Coordinator to service our Asian Brand teams and advertising agencies including but not limited to TV producers, creatives, account teams, brand managers on both a local and global level.

The successful candidate will have preferably at least 1 year of music supervision experience and will be expected to manage search, licensing, composition and production music projects across North America. The successful candidate will develop creative measures to not only increase the client portfolio but also maintain current customers in the US and across North America.

// Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

  1. Successfully implementing company policy
  2. Assist with relationship management of existing accounts
  3. Facilitate music searches and music creation
  4. Oversee all music licensing and rights management
  5. Controlling project finances
  6. Using agency and brand contacts to research and generate new business
  7. Conceptualise, initiate and maintain marketing strategies including advertising, external communications, PR and events
  8. Contribute to the development of the wider team.
  9. Delivering presentations and research materials
  10. Attending meetings with client

// Required Skills and Experience:

  • Direct and applicable music supervision background in either Film, TV or Advertising.
  • Understanding of music licensing, composition, production music and the synchronisation industry as a whole.
  • Superior negotiating skills
  • Excellent time, planning and project management skills
  • Be resilient, detailed and creative
  • Be able to successfully work on own initiative
  • Be able to handle demands, targets, guidelines, and high stress situations
  • Be consistent, dependable and efficient
  • Any additional Asian languages would be an advantage but not essential
  • Must be able to legally work in Singapore (preferably Singapore citizen/ PR)

// Music Supervision: 

Big Sync Music is responsible for sourcing and licensing music for advertising and this role will cover music creation or original composition (tracks written specifically for an ad), library or stock music, independent music and contemporary/existing music. As part of that role we will speak to unsigned musicians, independent composers and composition companies, major and independent record labels and publishers in order to negotiate and secure music rights. We also advise on the creative, suggesting tracks or musicians to supply music.

// Current Client Relations: 

With Unilever as our anchor client we have a duty to service not only the various brand teams (of which there are over 400 around the world) but also the rostered ad agencies. Much of day to day contact is with the ad agencies and therefore we are constantly looking to introduce, maintain and improve our service offering through presentations, workshops and client feedback meetings. The successful candidate will take an active part in setting up these meetings, delivering information and looking for ways to improve the service offering and relationship. The role may also include music supervision work including music search, sourcing original composition and sync licensing.

// Strategy: 

Big Sync is always seeking to expand its client base to include Ad Agencies on a long- or short-term basis. The successful candidate will assist the company to create a strategy to raise the profile of Big Sync and maintain all lines of communication with existing and potential clients and the industry as a whole. In addition, creating long term music strategies for clients, including audio branding, licensing and content creation.
