Job Description

User Interface / Experience Designer (Contract)

Location: [Malaysia/Singapore]

Position: We are seeking a skilled UI/UX Designer to join our team. As a UX/UI Designer, you play a crucial role in creating our websites that are easy to navigate, interact with and are accessible to users on any device. Your goal is to enhance the user experience by understanding their needs, goals, and pain points.

You will review our website and redesign it to enhance the user experience and interface design, working closely with our Marketing team on the content creation. Additionally, you will document the design process and create comprehensive branding guidelines related to website development so that it can be integrated into our Brand Manual.

Key Responsibilities: 

Website Review and Redesign:

  • Analyze website, feedback and identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the current website to identify are as for improvement in user experience and interface design.
  • Conduct interviews, surveys, and other research methods to understand user needs and preferences.
  • Recommend a redesign strategy to enhance the website's usability, aesthetics, and functionality.

Create wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to visualize user interfaces.

Collaborate with stakeholders and experts to ensure cohesive design elements.

  • Ensure the website is responsive and optimized for various devices and browsers.
  • Perform usability tests on software products and website features to assess functionality.
  • Evaluate user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages, and banners.
  • Implement customized experiences for digital users.

Branding and Design Documentation:

  • Document the entire design process, from initial concept to final implementation.
  • Create detailed branding guidelines that outline the visual and experiential elements of the website design.
  • Use flow diagrams, graphic designs, storyboards, and site maps to explain the logic behind the guidelines.
  • Ensure the branding guidelines are comprehensive and can be used for future reference and consistency.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with marketing, content, and development teams to ensure the redesign aligns with overall business goals and brand strategy.
  • Communicate design concepts and specifications clearly to stakeholders and team members.
  • Gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to the design and guidelines.

User Experience Research:

  • Understand product specifications and user psychology to predict what might work best for both users and the product.
  • Analyze user feedback and behaviour to continuously improve the website's user experience.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, Web Designer, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing web design and user experience projects.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development languages.
  • Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
  • Excellent understanding of user experience principles and best practices.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in branding and creating design guidelines.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards.
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and version control tools (e.g., Git).
