Asia Genomics is seeking Biocurators with genetics knowledge to assist in curating variations in the human genome (e.g. Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms; insertions deletions). The Curator is responsible for searching and retrieving meaningful genetic variations across genomic databases, and collating them for review. Curators may be asked to also review suitability of the data to be added to the database for incorporation into the algorithm for genetic risk modelling.
The ideal candidate should have or is finishing a degree in science, and find sifting through primary literature and genomic databases an exciting affair. Knowledge in statistical genetics would be a great advantage. Training will be provided to bring the candidate up to par for curation standards.
Monthly remuneration for this internship: $800
