Job Description

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities

Alternative Investment

- Analyze, research and prepare investment reports on specific opportunities / sectors in alternative investments. Carry out project study on alternative investment opportunities in Asia. 

- Conduct secondary research and assist in the preparation of market views, presentations, research papers and/or business cases.

- Identify feasibility of investing in alternative assets in Asia, which covers assets like real estates, private equity, infrastructure, renewable energy, etc.

- Understand local regulatory environment, current market condition, type of investment available, opportunity and pitfalls, especially in countries like China, India, Singapore and Indonesia. 

- Map opportunities and make recommendations of segments that best fit our current portfolios to enhance return in alternatives space.

Asset Manager Management

- Carry out financial / investment analysis, market analysis, fund analysis, project analysis.

- Analysis of investment strategies using the tools.

- Understand AIM’s fund scoring model, asset manager scoring model. 

- Develop fund performance measurements and asset manager performance measurements.

- Project managed asset manager search, review and selection.

- Develop Bloomberg API and enhance existing analysis and performance tools. 

- Participate in conference call with asset managers, economists, strategists and provide summary notes. 

- Prepare asset manager dashboard, management reporting. 

Others

- Carry out ad-hoc requests needed to support investment activities and operations. 

Key Requirements

- Second year students or above doing Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in related field, e.g. Business Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences. Students with double degrees in Finance and IT will be viewed favorably. 

- Should be able to carry out research activities, and possess excellent analytical ability and problem solving skills.

- Competencies in financial modeling: fixed income, equity and derivative asst classes and their valuation. 

- Basic understanding of investment management, portfolio management, and asset-liability management. 

- Have past internship experiences in financial/banking/investment industries. 

- IT Programming experiences: preferably in C#, Visual Studio or another object-oriented language would be viewed favorably. 

- Desire to work in fast pace environment - highly driven, goal oriented, able to work independently with little oversight, comfortable in working under ambiguity. 

- Fluent in written and spoken English.
