Job Description

Facilities Technician (1 Year Contract) 

SUMMARY OF ROLE

As a facilities technician, your primary responsibilities will be to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of the facilities’ infrastructure and equipment. Your role will encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at providing a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for employees and visitors. The key components of your job scope will include:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on various facility systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions promptly to minimize disruptions and maintain optimal functionality.
  • Facility repairs: Address and rectify facility-related issues, including but not limited to lighting, doors, windows, floors, walls, and ceilings. Respond to repair requests and ensure that repairs are completed efficiently and in accordance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment used within the facility. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, conduct repairs, and coordinate with external vendors or service provider as needed to ensure equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks. Participate in emergency response activities and provide support during safety drills or incidents.
  • Record-Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections conducted within the facility. Generate reports, update maintenance logs, and documents any relevant information, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for future reference.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including facilities management, operations teams, and other departments, to address facility-related concerns and coordinate maintenance activities. Communicate effectively with team members, providing timely updates, sharing information, and seeking guidance or support when necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance facility operations and propose improvements in terms of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to facility management to enhance knowledge and contribute to ongoing improvements.

As a Facilities Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a functional and safe working environment for all occupants. Your attention to detail, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of facility systems and equipment.

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

Minimum requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in manufacturing or engineering with 8 years of working experience in Semiconductor industry and a minimum of 5 years in Managerial/Supervisory role
  • Management and lean manufacturing experience
  • Strong in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically MS Excel
  • Use Data Analysis to make recommendations on how to improve the quality and efficiency of manufacturing operations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent “people skills” to understand and optimize team dynamics is a must.
  • Strong business acumen
  • May be required to interact with outside customers, vendors or suppliers.
