Key Responsibilities

• Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
• Assist users with hardware and software installations
• Perform ad-hoc analysis
• Provide technical support to users
• Assist senior leaders in disaster recovery planning and testing
• Coordinate activities to identify, diagnose and rectify problems with little precedence
• Develop innovative solutions and/or systems modifications to reduce user problems
• Develop mitigating and/or preventive solutions
• Simulate user problems to resolve operating difficulties
• Conduct office automation feasibility studies
• Design new methods of highly complex reporting and presentation
• Install hardware equipment, software and administer maintenance agreements
• Oversee integration, compatibility and continuing operations of systems to ensure minimal disruption
• Perform acceptance testing of installed or upgraded equipment
• Conduct research alternatives to existing software and hardware
• Develop supporting documentation of all activities
• Organise system activities including planned maintenance events, system backup processes and disaster recovery drills

Job Requirements

• Good written, verbal communication and listening skills
• Strong analytical, presentation and logical thinking skills are essential
• Good Excel skills and able to present and illustrate generated data information for user and management reporting
• Working knowledge of AWS or equivalent Cloud Service providers
• Operational knowledge of Linux distributions such as Redhat, Ubuntu, CentOS, CoreOS
• Good SQL query writing experience in database environments like MSSQL
• Knowledge in data analysis tools, such as Python will be an added advantage
• Able to find solutions to problems with some degree of flexibility in the approach whenever possible, investigate inquiries and respond in a timely manner
• Able to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members
• Able to maintain a professional demeanor under stress
• Works proficiently and communicates fluently in verbal and written English

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent fields
