Machine Learning Intern

#The Role

Nested Technologies is looking for a Machine Learning Intern to help research, build, and evaluate machine learning systems for real-world applications.

You will work with data, train and benchmark models, analyse errors, and help translate research ideas into practical solutions across areas such as architecture, manufacturing, and finance.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys experimentation, quantitative problem-solving, and understanding why models work—or fail.

#What You'll Do

Model Development

- Build and evaluate machine learning and deep learning models

- Work with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, and Scikit-Learn

- Apply transfer learning and modern model architectures where relevant

- Compare approaches and recommend models based on performance, robustness, and suitability

Data & Experimentation

- Extract, clean, transform, and prepare datasets for experimentation

- Perform exploratory data analysis and visualisation

- Design experiments, establish baselines, and benchmark model performance

- Validate results using appropriate metrics and testing methodologies

Analysis & Research

- Research relevant advances in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision

- Apply suitable research methods to ongoing projects

- Conduct post-test error analysis and investigate model failure cases

- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, model performance, and experimental design

Deployment & Engineering

- Support the integration of trained models into applications and production systems

- Work with backend, cloud, and data infrastructure where required

- Assist with model deployment, testing, and monitoring

- Collaborate with software engineers to turn experimental models into usable product features

#What We're Looking For

- Strong foundation in machine learning, statistics, and programming

- Comfortable with Python and common machine learning libraries

- Good understanding of model training, validation, evaluation, and overfitting

- Able to analyse experimental results and reason about model performance

- Comfortable working with data and debugging technical problems

- Curious, methodical, and willing to take ownership of experiments

Experience with computer vision, CNNs, transfer learning, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-Learn, or similar tools is an advantage.

Experience with Django, PostgreSQL, AWS EC2, S3, RDS, Docker, Kubernetes, or model deployment is also advantageous.

Students and recent graduates from Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines are welcome to apply.

#Compensation
