Software Development Intern

#The Role

Nested Technologies is looking for a Software Development Intern to help build and improve real software products across web applications, automation, and AI-enabled systems.

You will work on production code, develop new features, integrate third-party services, and contribute to applications built with Python, Django, React, AWS, and modern AI tools.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, debugging, and understanding how software moves from an idea into a working product.

#What You'll Do

Full-Stack Development

- Build and improve web applications using Python and Django

- Develop frontend interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or related frameworks

- Design and implement REST APIs and backend services

- Work with PostgreSQL and application data models

- Contribute to mobile or cross-platform development where relevant

Cloud & Production Systems

- Deploy and maintain applications on AWS

- Work with services such as EC2, S3, and RDS

- Use Docker to develop and deploy applications

- Debug, test, and optimise production systems

- Support QA, releases, and production deployments

Integrations, Automation & AI

- Integrate third-party APIs and services such as payment, email, and communication platforms

- Build and evaluate AI-powered features using LLMs and modern AI APIs

- Work with asynchronous processing and automation tools such as Celery and Redis

- Help turn prototypes and experiments into reliable product features

Engineering Collaboration

- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

- Work with existing codebases and understand how different system components interact

- Write clear, maintainable code and improve software quality through testing

- Collaborate with the team on product and engineering decisions

#What We're Looking For

- Strong foundation in programming and software development

- Comfortable with Python and modern web development

- Good understanding of databases, APIs, and backend architecture

- Able to debug problems systematically and learn unfamiliar technologies quickly

- Comfortable using Git and working with existing codebases

- Curious, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership of assigned features

Experience with Django, PostgreSQL, React, React Native, AWS EC2, S3, RDS, Docker, REST APIs, Celery, Redis, or third-party API integrations is an advantage.

Experience with AI/LLM APIs or machine learning is also advantageous.

Students and recent graduates from Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related disciplines are welcome to apply.

#Compensation
