Arqis is building an AI-native control layer for high-value, high-complexity transactions.
- Job Description
We're looking for an exceptional researcher and problem solver to help build the intelligence layer behind Arqis.
You'll work at the intersection of AI, regulation, transactions and product, turning complex rules and real-world transaction structures into intelligence that software can use.
You don't need to be a lawyer.
What you'll work on
Build Arqis's regulatory intelligence
- Research regulations affecting technology and cross-border transactions
- Track regulatory changes across major jurisdictions
- Convert complex rules into structured requirements, controls and decision logic
- Build and maintain authoritative source libraries
- Help determine what information Arqis needs to evaluate a transaction
Topics may include export controls, sanctions, foreign investment, AI regulation, data restrictions and other rules affecting complex transactions.
Build transaction intelligence
- Research companies, counterparties, ownership structures and jurisdictions
- Map how products, technology, capital and data move through transactions
- Identify facts that could change a transaction's risk profile
- Build structured datasets and taxonomies that make this information usable by the product
Turn intelligence into product
- Work with engineering to translate regulatory requirements into product workflows
- Design transaction scenarios and test cases
- Evaluate AI-generated regulatory and transaction analysis
- Identify failure cases and improve the system
- Help design how risks, controls, evidence and exceptions should be presented to users
Work on real transactions
- Help analyze complex customer scenarios
- Research unfamiliar regulatory questions quickly
- Prepare structured analysis for the founding team
- Learn how companies actually manage high-stakes transactions
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who can take a complicated question, break it down and find a reliable answer.
You should be:
- An exceptional researcher
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented
- A clear, concise writer
- Comfortable reading dense regulatory or technical material
- Good at distinguishing reliable sources from weak ones
- Interested in how technology can turn expert knowledge into scalable software
- Curious about AI, geopolitics, technology and global business
We're open to students from law, computer science, business, economics, public policy, international relations, engineering or other quantitative disciplines.
Previous experience in law, consulting, government, technology, compliance, investing or research is useful but not required.
What makes this different
Most regulatory internships involve researching rules and writing memos.
At Arqis, your work will help turn those rules into software.
You'll work directly with the founder and engineers to help build the datasets, controls and decision logic underlying the Arqis platform.
You'll get exposure to real enterprise problems spanning AI infrastructure, technology transactions and cross-border regulation.
Strong interns may have the opportunity to continue with Arqis beyond the internship.
