Job Description

This project includes 1) design and prototyping of a morphing parabolic antenna for space applications; 2) actuating the parabolic antenna through 4D additive manufacturing.

In-scope: morphing structure design and prototyping

Out-of-scope: electronics/ circuit design and simulation.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on 4D additive manufacturing (4DAM) and deployable structures with guidance.
  • Assist in designing and modelling deployable structures.
  • Perform prototyping, testing, and analysis of physical models to evaluate performance.
  • Document results and findings in technical reports or research papers.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Master/ bachelor students that are currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or relevant disciplines.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
    • Familiar with programming and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Abaqus).
