About the role

We are looking for a Data Analyst Intern to support data processing and  analysis for scientific and chemical datasets.

You will be working in a high-throughput chemistry environment supported by cutting-edge laboratory automation technologies, where large volumes of experimental data are continuously generated from automated and semi-automated workflows.

The main focus of this role is to transform raw experimental data from different sources into clean, structured and reliable datasets for downstream analysis.

This is an exciting opportunity for students or graduates who want hands-on experience working with real-world scientific data and to understand how data, software and advanced laboratory automation come together in a modern chemistry R&D environment.

Internship Duration

3 months, with potential for permanent employment.

We are looking for someone to join our team for an initial 3-month internship. For a strong performer who enjoys the role and is a good fit with the team, there may be an opportunity to transition into a permanent, full-time Laboratory Technician position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support data-processing workflows for experimental and chemical data from different sources.
• Perform data validation and quality checks.
• Automate repetitive data-processing tasks using Python.
• Document data-processing logic and maintain reproducible workflows.

Necessary qualifications and qualities

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of data cleaning, transformation and validation.
• Good basic proficiency in Python.
• Good attention to detail and logical problem-solving skills.
• Willing to work with messy, incomplete and real-world datasets.
• Experience using pandas or similar data-processing libraries.
• Comfortable working with CSV, Excel, JSON and other common data formats.

Desirable

• Basic knowledge of SQL or databases.
• Experience working with APIs.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Experience automating repetitive tasks using Python.
• Interest in chemistry, scientific data, high-throughput experimentation or laboratory automation.
• Interest in learning how data systems support advanced automated chemistry laboratories.
