Our Marketing & Communications (Marcomms) team plays a key role in telling impactful stories with care, growing public awareness, and supporting fundraising campaigns that make wishes possible.
Marcomms Intern Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Marcomms Intern to support our digital storytelling and content initiatives. This internship is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, visual storytelling, short-form video creation, and contributing to meaningful, purpose-driven campaigns.
You will gain hands-on exposure to nonprofit marketing, social media content production, website management, and real-world campaign execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Creation & Social Media Support
- Design social media graphics, Instagram stories, and EDM banners using a suite of tools, aligned with our brand guidelines
- Script, film, and edit short-form videos (e.g. Instagram Reels)
- Draft engaging social captions and campaign messaging in our brand voice.
- Support content planning, scheduling, and cross-platform campaign adaptation.
2. Website & Digital Storytelling
- Write, format, and upload wish stories, pairing compelling narratives with high-quality media.
- Optimise images for website use (resizing, cropping, compressing while maintaining visual quality).
- Support website refresh efforts, ensuring content accuracy and consistent formatting.
- Apply basic SEO practices (headers, alt-text, meta descriptions) across web entries and media assets.
3. Media & Asset Management
- Organise and maintain photo and video assets within our digital media library using proper naming conventions and folder structures.
- Prepare and edit media materials for internal and external use when required
4. Campaign and Event Support
- Assist with on-site content capture (photography and videography) during wish days and fundraising events.
- Conduct light market research and social listening to identify creative trends in the nonprofit and brand space.
- Provide general administrative and project support to the Marcomms team
Requirements & Skills Required
- Strong design sense with the ability to follow brand guidelines (fonts, colours, logos) while producing engaging visuals. Experience using tools such as Canva, Photoshop and CapCut
- Writing ability: Clear, adaptable writing style suited for both heartfelt long-form stories and concise social captions.
- Experience editing Reels or short-form content with understanding of pacing, captions, and simple transitions.
- Basic familiarity and comfort with CMS platforms
- Careful, detail-oriented approach and clear, confident communication in English (written and verbal).
- Strong sense of empathy and the maturity to handle emotionally complex situations with care and discretion.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, Journalism, or a related field is preferred but not a requirement
- Open to tertiary-level, polytechnic students and undergraduates seeking internship. However younger applicants with a strong portfolio and communications skills may be considered.
