Job Description

About the Role: Assistant Buyer will work hand in hand with the procurement engineer and will be responsible for managing day-to-day responsibilities associated with supporting material planning, including ordering, expediting, deferring and general order management responsibilities


Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Assist Procurement Engineer in planning, scheduling, coordinating and approving product release to the production planning systems based on supplier’s material and capacity availability.
  • Assisting in providing input to Procurement Engineer, reschedules, and /or interfaces with internal departments, the mas­ter scheduling, to reschedule production in the event of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Handles set of purchasing process - RFQ, Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers on deliveries.
  • Ability to contact the local and overseas suppliers through phone & email for purchase order coordination.
  • Track and ensuring timely shipments from suppliers.
  • Prepare documents on purchase order release
  • Assist Procurement Engineer in weekly Buy list and update the status to EMS.
  • Rejections management – coordinate with suppliers, QA, Production and Engineering department. 
  • Update the inventory tracker on daily basis.
  • Work with Finance team to arrange for supplier payments.
  • Arrange for shipment of components for development purposes,
  • Assist with other ad-hoc duties

Requirements :

  • 0-2 years experience with bachelors 
  • Able to commit at least 5-6 months 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking at a fast pace using time management and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external resources to get results
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with extensive experience using MS Excel
