• Identify key indicators according to a given topic, collect data from public or given internal sources, and analyze them. The data would be related to Chinese macroeconomics, Chinese steel/iron ore industry, as well as the downstream or upstream sectors.
• The role is expected to be able to work independently, but also need to be proactive in internal communication in order to finish the given study.
• The topics are to be determined but would be from the following aspects (but not limited to these ones)
a. Commodity cycle study – how long the next up cycle will come?
b. Urbanization, and quantify its impact to construction of property and infrastructure in next 5 years?
c. Demographic trend in China and its impact on China’s economy and steel consumption
d. Per capita steel consumption peak in China, already peaked or still ahead?
e. Chinese 13th FYP GDP target (>6.5%), how the three drivers (investment, trade and consumption) would evolve to achieve the target. And their respective contribution in GDP and total steel
consumption.
f. Indirect steel export analysis
• The delivery of the study would be in three stages:
1) Prepare reports of findings of the key indicators, illustrate data and their correlation graphically, and justify them with written text;
2) Draft PPT preparation;
3) Final presentation with conclusion.
