As a member of the team, the person will be responsible for modeling the variables to forecast short-term pricing trends by utilizing existing Market Intelligence databases.
Key Accountabilities
To develop an integrated statistical model for forecasting short term and longer term iron ore prices using Market Intel databases of S/D, iron ore Cost Curves.
Development of data models that take into account variables that impact iron ore prices in short term which is not limited to following: macro data of global and China economy, political events, DCE iron ore Futures, iron ore port inventory, RMB movement, seasonal variations on S/D, coking coal prices, premiums and discounts of high and low grades ores respectively.
A Beta version of the model needs to be up and running by end of 6th Month from start date of intern. Once the Beta version of model is up and running the insights and accuracy of results will be further improved over next 6 months by fine tuning variables that have key role in predicting the result.
