Company Profile

Universal Health (UH) is a Singapore-based digital health organisation working to improve access to mental health support through applied research and real-world healthcare partnerships.

Our work is grounded in a simple goal: to make mental health care preventative and accessible beyond the clinic. We collaborate with clinicians, healthcare institutions, and researchers to run field-based studies that focus on mental health, physical wellbeing, and everyday behaviour. These studies directly inform practical tools, public education, and interventions aimed at supporting individuals who may otherwise fall through gaps in the healthcare system.

Job Description

Universal Health is looking for a Research Intern to support ongoing mental health studies and to help translate research findings into accessible public-facing content.

This role is both field-based and communication-facing. It involves direct interaction with study participants in clinical settings, as well as working with the team to turn mental health and healthcare research into clear, easy-to-understand social media graphics and educational materials. The intern may also provide occasional support at company events or office sessions in Novena.

This role is well suited for students or early-career candidates who are motivated by social impact, interested in healthcare research and mental health, and who care about making scientific knowledge understandable and useful to the public.

Key responsibilities (core)

  • Support data collection for healthcare and mental health studies at clinic sites
  • Assist with basic physiological measurements (e.g. blood pressure) following training and protocols
  • Guide participants through completion of mental health questionnaires and study forms
  • Ensure accurate recording and secure handling of study data
  • Attend clinics in person as required, including some weekends
  • Provide ad hoc support during company events or research activities
  • Occasionally be present at the UH office in Novena as needed
  • Creation of mental-health-related educational content, such as translating short wellbeing articles into simple infographics for social media (using AI tools is highly encouraged)
  • Assist with content preparation for public education and outreach initiatives (e.g., create event or study participant recruitment posters)

Requirements

  • Comfortable interacting with patients or study participants in healthcare settings
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow research and safety protocols carefully
  • Attendance in office (11 Mandalay Road, Clinical Sciences Building) 3 days a week
  • Willing to travel to clinic location in Woodleigh and occasionally work on weekends when required, such as for company events or data collection
  • Background or interest in psychology, public health, healthcare, or life sciences is an advantage
